Re: Ruger factory Mini 14 mags
Thanks for the info. It sure would be nice if they would make some 20 rounders for the Mini 30... Doubt that will ever happen tho.

Re: Ruger factory Mini 14 mags
Buy the mags even if you don't own a mini to sell or trade later.

You guys might also want to check Black Warrior for your hi-cap magazine needs for the Ruger Mini series, they have a pretty solid reputation for their magazines. I had a chance to dump a few magazines through a Ruger AC556 (select-fire Mini 14) that were Black Warrior's, the owner of the AC556 swore by them. Their Mini 14 magazines are about half the price of factory Rugers. |

If you're going to get a mini 14, just get close....

Re: Ruger factory Mini 14 mags
Depends on what you would consider "accurate". Is it accurate enough for your life to depend on, I'd say yes. Is it more accurate than a AR? Maybe not, but it's 10 times tougher and more dependable in my opinion.
Here's a great review of the mini. http://www.gunblast.com/Ruger_RanchRifle.htm |

Repair parts can be a pain, since Ruger refuses to sell many parts to individual customers. You can pick up any AR repair part you need off the errornet. Accuracy with the Mini tends to suffer from barrel heating as the rifle is fired & fired. From what I've read, the Mini-14 will give larger groups at 100 yards than your average (non-match) AR15. Note that Ruger has come out with a "new improved" heavier barrel Mini to address some of these concerns. Reliable aftermarket mags for the Mini-14 are very hard to find. Expect to pay 2-3x the price that you'd pay for decent AR magazines. Ruger's $30/mag "sale price" is better than the standard $40+, but still worse than your run of the mill decent AR mag. It comes down to availability - if you can get a Mini-14, but not an AR, go with the Mini. |
Re: Ruger factory Mini 14 mags
BTW these are now SOLD OUT.

Anymore feedback on these Black Warrior mags? Just found out how hard it is to find Mini 14 mags. Id pick up a bunch of these, but I want to be sure they will perform. |
